The Website owner is responsible for backing up their site. The process is easily completed through the Backup Wizard in your cPanel and should take only about 10 minutes to complete. The resultant backup file can be downloaded to your computer or copied to CD/DVD for safekeeping in a secure storage space. We suggest backing up your site on a regular basis, at least weekly, and after making any significant changes to your site.

The Website restore process is the reverse and uses the same cPanel wizard.

It should be remembered that you may have services running that are being updated without you making changes to your Website, for example; your e-shop transactions, discussion forums or other interactive features. This data should be backed up regularly. Consider for a moment how much data you would lose if your Website failed right now!

Our Webservers are regularly backed up to offsite secure storage however this backup process forms part of the infrastructure disaster management plan and is not intended to mitigate your responsibilities to backup your own data.
